Everything started a century ago when, in 1922, Felicetta assisted to the implant of Caninese, Moraiolo and Frantoio olive trees, on Petrignano’ hills on the outskirts of Viterbo.
Ever since that day, the love for the countryside has spanned generations, passing down from father to son those gestures so many times repeated but never the same of traditional olive growing in respect of Nature. This natural and cultural heritage has been inherited by Cristina Duri, that nowadays, together with her children Lorenzo and Beatrice, keeps caring about her grandparents’ olive grove.

With this vision Cristina is dedicated in biological olive growing and in the production of an extra virgin olive oil which is an expression of the strong connection with her own family roots, firm in the soil like those of her secular olive trees.
PETRIGNANUM’ BIOLOGICAL EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Olive trees’ blooming, that takes place between May and June, is undoubtedly the most emotional moment for Cristina and her family, because everything starts from these little and candid flowers.
At the beginning of Autumn, the commitment spent throughout the whole year finds satisfaction when the harvested olives are taken to the oil mill and the green gold is the achievement which pays off every effort.
ALMA : BIOLOGICAL EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
This oil is extracted from Caninese, Moraiolo and Frantoio olives, collected in the secular olive grove, center and heart of the company. Of a golden clear yellow with slight green reflections, it has a wide and developing smell, rich in hints of artichoke and chicory, flanked by balsamic notes of basil, mint and rosemary. Complex and delicate in the mouth, it tastes like lettuce, celery and almond and it presents a pronounced bitter and a strong and harmonious spicy. Ideal on every kind of dish.
PRETIOSA : MONOCULTIVAR CANINESE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
This oil is extracted from a precious variety of olives, Caninese, a native variety of Viterbo area. Of a clear green, its smell is net and intense, rich in hints of olives, cut grass, artichoke and chicory. Equilibrate and delicate in the mouth, it presents a medium-intense bitter and a spicy that remains pleasantly in the mouth, remembering the sensation of chili pepper. Ideal on particularly structured dishes, such as soups and meat-based main courses.

In Petrignanum agriculture is based on daily gestures carried out in respect of the Nature. The company’s doors are always opened to visitors, who can experience the host and the regenerative effect of the time spent in harmony with the beauty that surrounds them.

• Have a walk through secular olive trees, learn to taste the oil and enjoy a peasant snack in the shade of the olive grove of Petrignanum, listening to the anecdotes of the family history and the secrets with which every plant is kept
• Cultivate your own bond with Nature, learning how to know and love it … having fun with the activities of the Ortovolante, accompanied by Cristina, specialized in vegetable garden teaching and in horticultural therapy
• Spend the night a few minutes away from the historic center of Viterbo and from the principal thermal centers, sorrounded by a territory dotted with charming villages and archaeological, cultural and natural sites.
