ASSAGGI DI CITTÀ

As part of Assaggi 2026, the Assaggi di Città programme offers a special opportunity to discover and experience the historical and cultural heritage of Viterbo through dedicated guided tours.

The tours will take place on 16 and 17 May 2026, leading participants along itineraries that connect the Santa Maria in Gradi complex to the historic centre, linking architecture, history and the city's most iconic landmarks.

An opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Viterbo in a guided and accessible way, enriching your Assaggi visit with a moment of authentic discovery of the city's heritage.

The medieval quarters: history, curiosities and legends

An itinerary dedicated to the city's historic quarters and an introduction to its urban history.

Animals, symbols and depictions in historic Viterbo

A themed walk dedicated to animal figures carved on palaces, fountains and monuments — recurring motifs in medieval and Renaissance iconography.

Sunday 17 May — 3.00 pm — departure from Santa Maria in Gradi

The women's voices of Viterbo

A narrative walk through the historic centre dedicated to the women who, over the centuries, helped shape the cultural, spiritual and social identity of the city.

Saturday 16 May — 9.30 am — departure from Piazza del Teatro, near the Theatre
Sunday 17 May — 5.00 pm — departure from the Assaggi Fair

Useful information

Guided tours are free with mandatory registration and will be led by licensed Tourist Guides.
You can recognise your Guide by the flag.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the guided tour at the indicated departure point.
At the end of the guided tour, you will be accompanied to the Assaggi Fair (only for tours departing at 9.30 am, 10.30 am and 3.00 pm).
Cancellations no later than 48 hours before the tour.
